Business Development Representative

We’re looking for a business development representative who wants to make a difference in the world by helping organizations ignite students’ innate passion for exploration.

In this role, you’d be joining our growing sales team and helping us sell Beagle’s software platform and inquiry-based learning programs. You’d be working with an Account Executive to develop relationships with higher education institutions, K-12 schools, and organizations striving to increase student retention, engagement, and transferable skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for filling the sales pipeline by contacting leads, qualifying them, and scheduling meetings with the sales team. You’ll research your target companies and prepare research summaries to turn your Account Executive into a guru before their calls.

By starting with Beagle in this role, you’ll build a foundation of skills needed to advance in your career, including how to build new customer personas, sales playbooks, and sales processes. You'll shadow our Account Executive in customer meetings and strategy calls to help you grow your sales skill set. If you take this role, you will be expected to move to an Account Executive role after 12 to 18 months.

Company Description

Beagle Learning is an EdTech start-up, based in Boston, started by MIT Alumni. Beagle Learning's mission is to build a generation of collaborative problem-solvers who can tackle today’s biggest challenges and opportunities.

Beagle Learning builds turn-key, team-led learning programs built to drive learner persistence and develop higher-order thinking skills critical for the modern world. Beagle combines a SaaS platform with best-in-class services to coach instructors and learners, credential their work, and connect them to a network of like-minded people.

Their products include the Beagle Platform, an online learning app designed to help instructors manage student-led projects, and a series of Beagle Experiences that combine that app with a professionally designed learning curriculum, coaching materials, and badging. Their most popular program right now is Make it Matter, a service-learning program where students work in small groups over the course of a semester or year to learn about and take action on a local community challenge they care about.

The Beagle Platform includes 1) scaffolded assignments to help guide students through a project, 2) a mind-map-based collaboration tool for students to share work, 3) grading and assessment tools for the instructor, and 4) an AI engine that processes student questions to identify common interests, needs, goals, or skill gaps students are encountering.

Beagle Learning was founded in 2016 and has attracted investment from Arizona State University, LearnLaunch, Techstars, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the US Department of Defense. Beagle’s tools are used across 17 institutions and have helped more than 7,000 students persist through high school and college.

Including full-time team members, part-time co-founders, interns, and highly involved contractors, we are a team of 14.

Location
